A man armed with what appeared to be a small calibre pistol took about $200 and threatened three employees of the Yello Sub delit at 12th Street and Oread Avenue about 1 a.m. yesterday.
Robbers threaten employees, take $200 from delicatessen

Chris Mullenow, Lawrence police spokesman, said the man entered the closed but unlocked store, pulled out his gun, aimed it at an employee and demanded money. The man also asked employees who entered the dining area.
The man fled on foot after being given a bank bag containing cash, and he was taken to the deposit box. Police then were called and searched the area but did not find him.
Kathy Morrow, owner of Vela Sho,
said that the store never had been robbed before. She said that security
was well guarded and strengthened by the incident.
Lt. Jeanne Longaker, KU police spokesman, said a KU police officer followed and stopped a car that was driving on a highway when driver was questioned and released.
Mulvenon described the suspect as a white male, age 21 to 25, 5-foot-11, 140 pounds, with shoulder length reddish hair. During the robbery, she was wearing a tan jacket, blue jeans, a shirt and tennis shoes.
The KU International Folk Dance Club meets from 7:30 to 10 tonight in St. John's Gymnasium.
Mulvenon asked that anyone having information about the incident call the Lawrence police department.
