Cohen Kansan staff writer A Wisconsin couple was injured yesterday afternoon in a one-car accident about four miles east of Lawrence on the Kansas Turnpike. Rescue workers carry Alice King of Waukesha, Wis., from her car. King and her husband, William, were injured yesterday when their car overturned four miles east of Lawrence on the Kansas Turnpike. Alice M. King, 64, was listed in fair condition last night at St. Luke's, a hospital spokesman said. William S. King, 67, of Waukesha, Wis., was listed in critical condition yesterday evening with head and chest injuries Luke's Hospital in Kansas City, Mo., a hospital spokesman said. King was taken from the scene by ambulance to Lawrence Memorial Hospital, and then was flown in by Flight helicopter to St Luke's. According to the Kansas Turnpike Authority, Alice King was driving the couple's 1988 Mercury on the right hand lane at about 11:50 a.m. when it apparently began to drift into the passing lane. A car in the passing lane honked and Alice King apparently veered back to the right, lost control and went into the southern ditch, where the car overturned. Matt Lundy, Kansas Dakuks camp press secretary, said the Massachusetts first lady will deliver an address to a Wichita high school early school day. Dukakis campaign workers were in Wichita on Friday to take care of details. Lundy said. Dukakis was STORY IDEA? expected to spend a little more than two hours in Wichita, he said.
