6 UNIVERSITY DAILY KANSAN Monday, November 20, 1967 Facilities open for KU-MU game There seems to much moaning, groaning and gnashing of teeth among the students who live outside of the Lawrence-Kansas City area over the scheduling of the KU-MU game Saturday, however the administration is making efforts to lessen the pain somewhat by keeping facilities operating over the vacation. Jay Simons, sports information director, estimates more than 45,000 will see the Missouri game, but emphasized any estimate of student turnout would be uncertain because KU has not had a vacation - time game in three years. "The variable is the students," Simon said. J. J. Wilson, university residence halls director, said all residence halls will be closed from 9 a.m. Wednesday until 9 a.m. Saturday. The halls will resume full meal service Saturday, and will continue on schedule for the rest of the weekend. Frank Burge, director of the Kansas Union, said Union services will be provided on a regular schedule starting Saturday, but that the Union will be open with food service throughout the vacation period for students planning to stay in Lawrence. Porter drove a Formula Vee which has a Volkswagen engine and suspension mounted into a fiberglass body. Buck Entriken, 1343 Tennessee, marshal of the gymkhana, had a 1:09.45 run but was penalized three seconds for knocking over a pylon—a rubber cone used to mark the course.
