The guides were compiled by Don Baker, sports information director, and assistant director, Jim Sheldon, and are given to broadcast sports writers for their use. Press guides from all NCAA member schools throughout the country were entered in the competition at Cincinnati, Ohio. The KU publications were judged against comparable brochures put out by Division I universities but major football-playing universities.
