Prisoners escape from work detail Convicts kill 2 in shootout, get away MONTREAL—A prison guard and a convicted死 in a shootout with four prisoners who took a prison official hostage for a short time yesterday as they made their break from St. Vincent de Paul Penitentiary in nearby Laval, the officials said three other prisoners were wounded. The prisoners armed themselves when they were in the visitor's area of the 100-year-old prison just before their escape. Convicts LANSING—Two men fled a work detail at the Kansas State Prison yesterday afternoon, and about 26 officers joined by search dogs covered a woodshruff area between Lansing and the Missouri River.
