SHAREHOLDER resolutions calling for companies' withdrawal from South Africa or termination of expansion in South Africa have increased in the past year. This spring Haverford and Bryn Mawr colleges became the first colleges to actually introduce shareholder resolutions. Porto said the Endowment Association was aware of some shareholder resolutions concerning South Africa, but had not supported any. "It's been our position to vote with the management of a company or else not own the stock," he said. "If we didn't agree with them, we wouldn't have them in our portfolio."
