'Hawks scrimmage Baker in mud

The field conditions were the best and the rules weren't too tight, but the 1980 Kansas baseball season got off to an uneven start.
Baker University visited Quigley Field and the Jayhawks and the Wildcats locked up in a scrimmage that resembled something played on a sandstep. There was no winner or loser, and the game was kept. In fact, there were never even any base runners.
