TWO UNIVERSITY of Kansas students were formally charged in district court yesterday with making terrorist threats against KU residence walls last weekend.
William Vandevere, Bartlesville, Okla., freshman, was charged with two counts of terrorist threats. He was released on $3,000 bond. Jon Kargul, Brockton, Mass., freshman, was charged with one count of terrorism threats. Kargul was released on$ 1,500 bond.
Vanderveen is to appear in court for a preliminary hearing Friday. A date for
Kargul's preliminary hearing has not been set.
Both students were arrested last weekend after two unrelated bomb threats were made against KU residence halls.
LAWRENCE POLICE are investigating the theft of $1,300 in cash from Jawahil Oakw. 902. W238 SL. An employee of the gasoline store where he was working when he arrived for work at 7 a.m. yesterday. Police found no sign of force removed from their hiding place.
