William Vandevere, Bartlesville, Okla., freshman, was charged with two counts of terrorist threats. He was released on $3,000 bond. Jon Kargul, Brockton, Mass., freshman, was charged with one count of terrorism threats. Kargul was released on$ 1,500 bond. Vanderveen is to appear in court for a preliminary hearing Friday. A date for Kargul's preliminary hearing has not been set. Both students were arrested last weekend after two unrelated bomb threats were made against KU residence halls.
