Committee Seeks to End Medical Center Dispute
Recent disagreements between two surgeons at the University of Kansas Medical Center are being alleviated by the new American Heart Association heart surgery at the Medical Center.
The dispute between Dr. Robert L. Reis, chief of the cardiothoracic surgery section, and Dr. Loren J. Humphrey, surgery department chairman, led to the canonization of all heart surgery except emergency cases for a ten-day period last month.
Members of a five-member committee are still being chosen to work on alleviating disagreements between the two physicians over the use of space, equipment and assignment of personnel, according to Vice-chancellor for vice-chancellor at the Medical Center.
