But, under new management and renamed the Free State Opera House, came back to life Saturday night as Jimmie Spheers performed soft ballads and folk- Spheres is only the first of many changes coming to the Free State Opera House, according to one of its managers, Karen Guild. "I feel a manager should get as much variety as possible for the public," Aldis said, "from a circus to the Stan Kenton orchestra." ADIS SAID HE WAS GOING to try to have at least one dance group a week and a week's worth of dancing. "Spheris fell in love with the place," Aldis said. he was in Friday night. During the summer, Gould said, they plan on converting the Free State into a dinner theater, which would offer plays after dinner. The plays would be performed by KU theater groups.
