According to the Centers for Disease Control's website, tuberculosis is spread when a person with the disease in his or her lungs or throat coughs, sneezes, speaks or sings. People nearby may become infected when breathing in the tuberculosis bacteria. The disease is not spread by physical contact such as shaking hands or sharing food and drink. The appeal was then expedited to the University Judicial Board and the board is slated to make a decision within a week or so.
