Candidates for political offices must comply with various state and local laws in the use of political advertising, especially campaign spending.

The recent Democratic convention raised many new and old issues, one the boycot of lettuce produced by non-union laborers.
JIM Meyers, Rusty's manager at the 23rd Street store, said that he was more concerned with the taste of his baked lettuce than any other issue.
Local retail merchants have had some inquiries as to whether their lettuce was union or non-union but most said that they weren't familiar with the issue of uniforms and their customers weren't either.
