Sanders Drops in Birdie To Beat Trevino By One
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — Dapper Doug Sanders took 40 seconds to line up a putt, then struck the ball with a flick of the final hole Sunday and beat Lee Trevin by one stroke in the $175,000 Kemper Open Gif

Air Force Pilot Killed In Transpo 72 Exhibit
WASHINGTON (AP)—An Air Force Thunderbird jet pilot was killed Sunday during a precision flying exhibition at Transpo 72, although he parachuted from his plane before it crashed and exploded.
Officials identified the pilot as Maj. Joe Hawkey, 32, of Awkosie, N.C., a decorated veteran of 122 missions in Southeast Asia.
