The Sisters had collected 1,250 letters from children and afternoon on a petition urging the University to provide funds for a child care center for the KU program. "The Chancellor will be asked for a written commitment stating the need to build maintenance, janitorial help, rent and utilities as well as laundry service for a child care center in our community. We will demand that it be put into effect no later than the beginning of the fall semester," she said.
