Wednesday, Oct. 31, 1962 University Daily Kansan Page 3 Forum Will Air Election Issues Students and faculty members will hash over state and national political issues at an election forum at 7:30 tonight in the Jayhawk Room of the Kansas Union. A debate between gubernatorial candidates John Anderson Jr., Republican incumbent, and Dale Saffels, Democrat, planned for tonight, was canceled because of conflicts in the candidates' schedules. The forum is part of Political Emphasis Week here sponsored by the Political Action Committee, composed of the Young Democrats, Young Republicans, Student Union Activities and KU-Y. REUBEN McCORNACK, Abilem junior and president of the Young Republicans, and Earl G. Nehring, assistant professor of political science, will offer the Republican viewpoint. Peter G. Aylward, Ellsworth senior and president of the Young Democrats, and James E. Titus, assistant professor of political science, will represent the Democrats. Members of the audience will be free to ask questions at the conclusion of the panel discussion. ISSUES LIKELY to be discussed include medical care for the aged, the Trade Expansion Act and the Common Market, farm legislation, and the relationship between President Kennedy and business. Political Emphasis Week ends Nov. 6 with an election night party. If you give to a thief he cannot steal from you, and he is no longer a thief—William Saroyan One KU student and a former KU student were bound over for district court Monday on charges of burglary. KU Student Bound Over for Trial Steven LaBoueff, Stateline, Calif. junior, and William Rohr, Belle Plaine, who withdrew from KU this month, were bound over in a preliminary hearing for the November term of Douglas County Court. Rohr, LaBouffe and James Laird, Wichita freshman, were arrested on Oct. 14, in connection with the burglary of a Lawrence service station. They pleaded not guilty and were held for preliminary hearing. Laird and LaBoueff were released on $1,500 bond, but Rohr was recommitted to the city jail because he could not pay a fine assessed in court. Laird later admitted to police that he had been involved in three other similar burglaries. His preliminary hearing has been extended thirty days.
