Union Founder Will Speak Monday
Clarence K. Streit, founder of the Atlantic Union movement, will present his views on United States entry in the Common Market Monday.
Streit is scheduled to speak in a panel discussion on "Atlantic Union and the Common Market" at 7:30 p.m. in the Big Eight Room of the Kansas Union.
KU Vice Chancellor James Surface will moderate.
Other panelists will be James A. McCain, Kansas State University president; J. M. den Uyl, visiting Dutch Parliament member, and Charles E. Staley, KU associate professor of economics.
The Atlantic Union movement seeks a federation of the United States and European nations. Such a federation would grow out of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization.
Parisians Ride Free
PARIS — (UPI) — Parisians enjoyed free subway rides today. Ticket sellers, ticket collectors and inspectors went on a one-day strike. Operating personnel kept trains running.
