University Council, SenEx leaders named for next year Dick Tracy, associate professor of educational psychology and research, was elected yesterday by the University Council as presiding officer of University Council for the 1992-93 academic year. Kansanstaffreport Jason McIntosh, Lawrence senior, was elected the assistant presiding officer of the Court. Six new University Senate Executive Committee members also were elected by Council at the meeting: Nancy Dahl, associate professor of biology; Robert Friauf, professor of physics and astronomy; E.P. Johnsen, professor of educationalpsychology and research; Mary Louis Michaelis, associate professor of pharmacology; Lynn Nelson, professor of history; and Sandra Zimdars Swartz, associate professor of religiousstudies. The new SenEx members then nominated Dahl as chairperson of the committee and McIntosh as assistant chairperson. The Council unanimously approved the nominations. Dahl was a SenEx member last year. Association will sponsor a spring powow at 2 p.m. tomorrow at the Kansas Union Ballroom. ON CAMPUS ■ The Commission on the Status of Women will sponsor a film festival at 1 p.m. Sunday at Alderson Auditorium in the Kansas Union. The festival is free. An informational meeting for KU cheerleading and mascot tryouts will be at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at Allen Field House. A department of geography colloquium will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. today at 317 Lindley Hall. Greg R.
