Solomon-Glover said too many young music students geared their thinking through recorded performances. Recorded performances allow the artist to correct a mistake, he said.

"You can go back and get it to the level you want it, but in live performance, there's no going back. What's done is done," Solomon Glover said. He compared being an opera singer with being an Olympic athlete.
Solomon-Glover said excessive demands were placed on one's body and voice, and there always was the threat that the demands of a performance might not be met.
