Streaks abound for Jayhawks
"It has been a concern of mine from the start of the season," Washington said. "We're working hard to address that area, and it will make a difference."
"As I've always said, each one of those were hard-fought wins," she said. "I'm proud of each one."
Kansas' winning streak included winning the Dial Soap Basketball Classic against University of Missouri-Kansas City and Florida Atlantic. The 99-53 victory against Florida Atlantic was the 350th of Washington's 20-year career.
The Jayhawks finished their first nine games with a 6-3 record, including a six-game winning streak followed by two consecutive losses before starting the Big Eight Conference season.
Kansas started to roll before Christmas, scoring more than 90 points in three consecutive games against Florida Atlantic, Illinois-Chicago and West Virginia.

Aycock, the team's leading scorer through the first nine games at 15.9 points a game, said the two losses were big disappointments because the team plued poorly.
"We need to get together and decide what we need to accomplish as a team," she said. "Then we'll be successful and start winning."
The Jahawks are still trying to fill the leadership void left after Terrilyn Johnson and Kay Kay Hart finished their eligibility last season.
