CLARIFICATION The Kansan ran an item in Tuesday's paper about a KU student who was arrested after hitting a truck and leaving the scene of the accident. The student in question was issued a summons to appear in court but was not taken to jail. Under Kansas law, being arrested can mean several things. The person can be issued a notice to appear in court or taken into custody and put in jail, said Sergent Mark Witt of the KU police department.
