It begins to look as though all of the things which women have been arguing about have been secured. The women have won the right to appear as they please, in slacks, shorts or, in little of either; they hold men's jobs, public offices, sue and win heart balm and alimony, and in general, have earned the right to do just about as they please. Back in the days of Mrs. McHenry, Mrs. Nation and Susan B. Anthony every inch of women's freedom had to be fought for. Now it seems as though women aren't satisfied--and like Alexander, may be crying because apparently there are no more worlds to conquer. But there are, to the women who are sincerely interested in advancing our progress and civilization. Women can prevent war, bring about a more temperate nation, work social reforms, strengthen schools, politics, government. No one can say that the man have done too creditable a job in any of those lines. Perhaps the women need a new leader, a crusading Amazon who will lead them in a fight on these reforms which are so sorely needed today in our national life. Perhaps another Carry Nation or a Myra McHenry will rise to direct them in doing the things which the men so far, seem to have been unable to achieve. Pepper Proves A 'Hot' Seller A pound of pepper would probably set all of the Summer session students to sneezing heartily, but that quantity of spice would be extremely small, compared to the annual consumption of the pepper in the United States. (Not for sneezing purposes, however). purpose. Pepper is the largest selling spice, and virtually all of the pepper of the world is bought and sold in a little area about four feet square in New York's produce exchange. Despite price fluctuations from six to 36 cents a pound, the housewife is able to buy a box for about 10 cents as a standard price the year around. On the world market, however, 14,000 tons of black pepper alone is traded each year. But be warned --if every family in America used two shakers of pepper each year, the world's supply would be exhausted. POSTLEPERK A conig hat she wore to bed. With fritters on her addleped.
