The exchange department is not the place for cheap compliments, if, indeed, there is a place at all; it is not a sparring ground, neither is it a funny corner. It is the place for cream of wit, beauty and wisdom.
Witty things are as easily lost as the pearls slipping off a broken string, but a word of kindness is seldom spoken in vain. It is a seed which, even when dropped by chance, springs up into a flower.
A student was recently expelled from the University of Michigan, for sending false reports to a daily newspaper. Student correspondents all over the country might take warning and see that their reports contain nothing detrimental to their college.
