Students To Check Western Civ Books Western Civilization books may be checked out of the Library after 10 a.m. Monday for use over the Christmas holidays, it was announced today by Robert Vosper, Director of Libraries. Flora Ewart, head of the Undergraduate Library added that five copies of each Western Civilization book would be kept in the undergraduate library on a regular 2-hour reserve basis for students who plan to stay in Lawrence over the Christmas vacation. Miss Ewart said that reserve books may be checked out after 10 a.m. Tuesday. The A Cappella Choir will sing traditional Christmas carols at 4:15 p.m. Monday in Strong rotunda. Students may gather there to hear the 30 minute concert. The choir is directed by Clayton Krebiel, assistant professor of music education. A Cappella Choir To Sing Three new courses have been added to the curriculum of the radio and television sequence offered jointly by the Department of Speech and the School of Journalism according to Dr. Bruce A. Linton, associate professor of journalism. Radio and Television Program Planning is the study of the planning and selling of radio and television programs and schedules. Field Practice in Radio is a course in which the student actually works. on a broadcasting station for credit. in which the student actually works. on a broadcasting station for credit. Most important in terms of new trends, Dr. Linton said, is Principles of Television Production. This course includes the methods of preparation and production of good television formats. "This course is the first of what we hope will be several new courses in television." Dr. Linton said. Journalism Adds Classes Library Schedule Set For Vacation Watson Library will observe the following Christmas vacation schedule beginning Tuesday, Dec. 20, through Tuesday, Jan. 3.
