Ireland To Compete
DUBLIN, Ireland (U.P.)—The Irish Olympic Council has announced that a 10-man team and manager will be sent to represent Ireland at next year's Olympic Games in Melbourne, Australia.
The highest score ever scored by an Iowa State basketball team in a single game was 105 against Oklahoma in 1954.

Daugherty Is Coach Of Year
NEW YORK (U.P.)—Hugh Duffy Daugherty, who in his second year on the job guided Michigan State to a Rose Bowl berth, today was chosen football "Coach of the Year" in the annual poll conducted by the New York World-Telegram and Sun and the other Scripps-Howard newspapers.
The 40-year-old Spartan coach, who didn't get a single vote in last year's balloting, this time rolled up the greatest winning margin in the 21-year history of the poll.
A total of 492 members of the American Football Coaches Association took part in the voting and Daugherty received 199 first-place ballots. A distant second was Bud Wilkinson, coach of Oklahoma's Orange Bowl bound Sooners with 54.
The award comes at the end of a season that saw Daugherty build a team that had won only three games out of nine the previous year into a formidable machine that won eight of nine and landed in the Rose Bowl.
