The official orchestra of the city of Prague, the orchestra contains 114 musicians and is conducted by Vaclav Smetacek. Rudolph Pekarek was the chief conductor of the orchestra until 1948. His successor was Vaclav Smetacek, who began conducting the orchestra on radio broadcasts in 1943. The program for the concert will include: Mozart's Symphony No. 41 in C Major "Jupiter"; Concerto for Pianoforte, B Flat Major by Beethoven; and Symphony No. 3 in E Flat Major, Op. 10 by Dvorak. Tickets are available at Murphy Hall box office. KU students will be admitted free with LD.
