The Aggies, meanwhile, got half a grip on the title in the tough Missouri Valley conference with an impressive 59-53 victory over St. Louis in a road game that had been regarded as crucial. In these days of "firechorse" teams and their 100 point scores, the Dukes and Aggies are proving again that it still pays to be stingy in the court spot. After last night's games, the Dukes rank as the nation's best defensive team with a 50.5 points per game average allowed, and the Aggies are close behind in second place with a 51.1 mark.
