Opening Rush Week With a Bang Here's Yer Pin' Opening Rush Week With a Bang More than 500 freshmen men come to school a week early to go through Rush week names, and shaking hands went on from 8 o'clock to 10 p.m. when the rushees re-tired to Robinson gym. The fraternity activities retired to their chapter for an all night session talking about the boys. But when it was all over 494 freshmen had pleaded, and everyone was satisfied. Placement Exam Time Work and play was the order of the day for new students during orientation week. There were tests, talks, tail but these were offered by watermelon feeds, the Jayhawk Nibble dances, and parties. Here the new students are pictured getting their first taste of KU life.
