KU concert attractions announced Seven attractions for the University of Kansas Concert Course and four for the 23rd season of the Chamber Music Series for 1969-70 were announced last week by Dean Thomas Gorton of the School of Fine Arts. The 114-piece Prague Symphony orchestra, led by Vaclav Smetaceck, will open the Concert Course Oct. 17. The Budaya Troupe, 15 dancers, actors, and musicians from Indonesia, will appear Nov. 5. This "extra" is being co-sponsored by the East Asian Area Studies. Other major events include: Maria Alba Spanish Dance Company, Nov. 23; John Alexander, tenor, Feb. 10; San Antonio Symphony, directed by Victor Alessandro, Feb. 19; William Massosel, pianist, Mar. 17; and Ballet West, directed by William F. Christensen, Apr. 15. The Chamber Music Series: Parrenin Quartet, Nov. 11; Natasha Gutman, cellist from the Soviet Union, Dec. 5; Bartok Quartet, Jan. 11; and Prokofiev Quartet, Mar. 16. The latter, making its first American tour, has won the International Music Festival in Moscow and the Haydn Chamber Music competition in Budapest.
