Smooth Fabrics Vary In Mood New fabrics take on moods as exciting and varied as the new season itself. Some have faces rugged and fresh as saplings with tiny green leaves. Others are smooth and silky as a just-cropped lawn after a rainstorm. Some have as many outlooks as there are spring flowers. And others come in from across the sea with an air as refreshing as the sound of the wind's first caress of leaf-dressed trees. Suit and coat fabrics have nubber, slubber, weaves inviting the contrast of smooth silks and crisp taffetas. There are new soft jerseys with novel open work patterns and boucles that are wondrous to the touch as they are to the look. The warm hued colors of rich fleeces and smooth suedes make scintillating fashion news too. Supple, thick, stiff or thin, it's silk and the silken-look that leads the way for dresses this season. Silk tafetas, silk organdes, luxurious pure silk prints, crepey silks 'all are included in the world of silk new dresses live in. And right along with this luxurious fabric are complementary touches of velvet, self-color and contrasting braid and brain fringe.
