TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 13, 1951 UNIVERSITY DAILY KANSAN, LAWRENCE, KANSAS PAGE SEVEN Navy Changes Requirements Changes in educational requirements for applicants for commissions in the naval reserve either as line officers or in general service have been announced by the navy department. Line officer candidates must have received their bachelor degree and completed mathematics through trigonometry in an accredited college. This is a reduction over previous requirements. College graduates must be between 19 and 27 years of age. Visual requirements have also been reduced... Draft-eligible men now deferred for eductural reasons may apply even if they have received their orders to report for pre-induction physicals. These changes will also apply to college graduates who have been recalled to active duty as reservists and to those who have enlisted as seaman recruits. These men should submit applications for appointment through their commanding officer.
