Guidance Helpers To Hold Meeting College and university students interested in a career in the field of educational and vocational guidance or in personnel work, will have the opportunity of attending the national convention of the Council of Guidance and Personnel Associations, scheduled for Monday through Thursday, March 27 - 30, Atlantic City, N. J. this was announced today by A. Blair Knapp, vice-president of Temple university and national co-ordinator for the 1950 convention of the guidance and personnel council, which has a membership of 10,000 persons throughout the United States and Canada. Mr. Knapp said the convention will provide an opportunity for students to meet and talk with guidance and personnel specialists who are tops in their field. More than 2,000 educators representing the major colleges and universities in the United States and Canada, as well as a large number of public and private school systems on the secondary school level, will attend and take part in the convention. The guidance council serves as the co-ordinating agency for a group of constituent organizations concerned with all phases of personnel and guidance work—among which are the National Association of Parents, the National Vocational Guidance association, American College Personnel association, and the Alliance of the Guidance of Rural Youth. Any full-time college or university student interested in attending the convention may apply for information at the dean of men's office, 228 Strong hall or write to A.
