The last 41 of the roiding prisoners who seized parts of the six-story Queens County jail Thursday were removed from the jail barricaded top floor before dawn Tuesday in a picker—"a seven-man bucket a lot of 75-foot ladder." The prisoners were taken by bus to another jail on Riker's Island in the East River. Nesmen were barred from the island, but a group of "observers" were allowed to accompany the prisoners to the jail. Fire equipment was used to remove the holdouts at the insistence of lawyers representing some of them. They argued that the prisoners might be beaten by guards if they were not given protection in a full public view. Newmen had watched from a high window in an adjoining building while guards in the yard of the Queens jail beat and kicked prisoners who were not firefighters. They went to Wednesday editions but declined further comment. In the past the Publishers Association of New York City has suspend publication when a member paper has run out of stock.
