Miss Gorbutt is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John D. Gorbutt, Jr., Topeka. Mr. Bowman is the son of Mrs. Harbeson Bowman, Stafford, and Mr. Abe Bowman, Kansas City. Mrs. D. W. Perkins, Lawrence, announces the enagement and approaching marriage of her daughter, Jeannette, to William M. Olin, Peoria, Ill. Miss Perkins, a member of Sigma Kappa sorority, was graduated from the School of Fine Arts last spring. Mr. Olin is an engineering sophomore. The wedding will take place Nov. 26 at the First Methodist church in Lawrence. Perkins-Olin Exchange Dinner The Kappa Sigma and Delta Upsilon fraternities held an exchange dinner Tuesday. Delta Chi Initiates Delta Chi announces the initiation of Dick Tomlinson, Dodge City; James Menehan, and Robert Bennett, Wichita. Gerald Carney, assistant professor of music education, and Mayor I. C. Tucker of Kansas City were also initiated. Mayor Tucker was a member of Sigma Phi Sigma, the local fraternity which later affiliated with Delta Chi. AO Pi Pledges Entertain The Alpha Omicron Pi pledges entertained the Phi Kappa Psi pledges at an hour dance recently. Delta Chi Buffet The Delta Chis entertained the Kappa Alpha Theta recently with a buffet supper. Following the supper was dancing and a home-coming skit was presented. Miss Webb was assisted by Virginia Gard and Harriet Harlow. The attendants and Mrs. Shaw received corsages of baby chrysanthemums. Miss Webb wore an orchid. Daugherty-Mitchell MeClure-Graves Chi Omega announces the double pinning of Miss Mary Caroline Daugherty and Miss Marilyn McClure to Mr. Dave Mitchell and Mr. John Graves. Miss Shirley Husted and Miss Jane Ferrill were the two attendants. They wore red rose corsages. Mrs. Onita S. Miller, housemother, wore a corsage of baby orchids. Hall and Canfield Engaged Men's open hours for the Robinson gymnasium swimming pool have been changed, Henry Shenk, chairman of the physical education department has announced. Men's Swimming Hours Changed Miss Hall is a freshman at Kansas State college at Manhattan. Mr. Canfield, engineering freshman at the University, is a member of Alpha Kappa Lambda. Mr. and Mrs. George Hall, Belleville, recently announced the engagement of their daughter Gloria, to Burton Canfield, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Canfield, also of Belleville. Read the Daily Kansan daily. The new hours are 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, and from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday. The pool will not be open on holidays and days of home football games. 2 Residences To Entertain Formal receptacles at Monchonia and Hopkins halls, residences for independent women, will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. Dec. 7 for 400 guests. The guests will include members of the Endowment association, parents of the women living in the houses, members of the faculty, and students. Guests will call first at Monchonia, 1014 Mississippi, where there will be a reception line, and then go to Hopkins, 1011 Indiana. Monchonsia hall was purchased last winter from D. H. Spencer, professor emeritus of pharmacy. It was used as a men's residence during the spring semester. Hopkins hall, opened during the fall semester of 1942, first housed football players and operated on a cooperative basis. Later it was used by women studying to be aeronautical technicians under the supervision of the University. It became a women's dormitory in the fall of 1946. Call K.U. 251 With Your News.
