The House Ways and Means committee brought out its big executive and judicial department bills. One of the measures carried an appropriation of $600 a year for the Academy of Science sponsored by the university of Kansas. abor Bill Passed Senate The bill placing labor unions under strict state supervision cleared one hurdle in passing the Senate a vote of 29 to 60. It may be more man a week yet before the House lets the measure on its floor for debate. As the bill now stands, sit-down strikes would be prohibited and labor union leaders would forfeit salaries, collections and expense accounts and also make an accounting of their various activities.
