J. Jakosky announced today. A. H. Sluss, professor of machine instruction and mechanical engineering, has withdrawn from Fowler Shops to devote full instruction in the de $ ^{ \circ} $ time to instruction in the department of mechanical engineering. In charge of the machine shops this year will be C. G. Mitchell and Paul G. Hausman. Mitchell will have charge of the precision machine training and tooling and the foundry, while Hausman will instruct in welding, heat treatment and supervise pattern making. To Revamp Shops Under the direction of Mitchell and Hausman it is planned to rehabilitate the University of Kansas shops to bring them up completely on a par with machine shops in industry.
