The need for this building is urgent. R.O.T.C., officials say, because training facilities here are poorer than in any other state university. Regardless of this handicap, the department has had a rating of "excellent" year after year. "Need Is Urgent" Enrollment in the department has increased 128 per cent since 1937. The air war was marked last night by a German attack on Sheffield, the great Steel center. Berlin claimed this attack was even more severe than the famous Coventry raid but British accounts, while admitting the destructiveness of the bombing, did not indicate it was pulverizing in its effect.
