It is always advisable to keep in contact with other state universities and watch what they are doing to improve their schools. Perhaps their problems are similar to ours and their solutions might be applicable here.
For instance the following headline in the Daily Texan, student paper of the University of Texas, gives us some insight into activities on the Austin campus.
Desire Unsuppressed to Reign At Girls' Junior Prom Tonight
And another paper brings us the information that students of the University of Capetown, South Africa, are threatening to strike because they are not allowed to smoke in their classrooms during examinations.
They are also insisting on tea being served during morning and afternoon examination periods.
There's one student body that knows when its rights are being infringed upon. The poor devils.

Gamma Phi Jean Wilkens and date went to the library last night. Jean asked a girl how she liked the lecture the night before. The young lady took Jean seriously; backed her into a corner; and spent 45 minutes giving a detailed criticism of Knickerbocker's remarks.
It has been advocated that the University should hold a basketball game and give half of the proceeds to Russia and half to Finland, just to show what strict neutrality is.
Gym Will Be Opened To Faculty Women
The gymnasium will be open to women faculty members and faculty wives this Saturday and next Saturday, March 2, from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Games in shuffleboard, darts, ping pong, deck tennis, and basketball will be played.
March 2, 45 minutes will be devoted to square-dancing. Faculty men and husbands are invited to join the dancing.

The movie committee is composed of Raymond Nichols, executive secretary, Fred Ellsworth of the alumni association, Professor Crafton, and Fred Montgomery of the Bureau of Visual Instruction.

Court convened 10 minutes late, with the judges marching in, in one group, through the crowded Pine room. An unusual hush fell over the crowd which occupied the smoke-filled room, as Buchanan stood and opened the session with a rap of his gavel.

Buchanan said in answer that "there is nothing better to stimulate the memory than such a gentle reminder as a suspended sentence hanging over one's head."
Following Farmer's talk the convicted students were given an opportunity to express their opinions, which two of them did in a forceful way. McClure and Maloney appeared to be bitter over the fact that the law was too much of a penalty as well as the decision.
