PAGE TWO SOCIETY UNIVERSITY DAILY KANSAN, LAWRENCE, KANSAS FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 23. I.S.A. Members Dance Tonigh Match Lip And Finger Tip Colors Lipsticks and finger nail-polish are keeping company these days. Cosmeticians have decreed that the two must match, or at least harmonize. One famous house set out to help women who are in a dilemma over trying to find nail-polish to match their favorite lipstick. After months of research they have worked out a chart giving four or five harmonizing or identical lipsticks for a whole range of nail-polish shades. Another company solves the problem by offering matching lipstick and nail-polish in a neat kit. Cosmetic and couture houses are working hand in hand this season to produce make up to match the new spring colors. Hot Pink is the newest color for gloves; therefore a cosmetic house offers an animated shade called Hot Pink for lips and nails. "Hot Pink" Popular Judging by the number on the market, lipsticks are apparently the biggest selling item in the business. Each week a new one is brought out and women snap them up with the zeal of true collectors. Application An Art Just as the smart woman collects lipsticks, so she knows how to apply them. She knows that if the lipstick is light, her lip outline must be exaggeratedly clear. The sprawling, spring bow mouth is disappearing and the thinner, more normal lip is returning to favor. If your lips and nails match your costume and are the right shade for you, you are off to a good start on the Spring Hit Parade. Library Staff Holds Dinner Thirty-one staff members of University libraries were present at an informal dinner held last night at the Evans Hearth. There was no organized program. Miss Lauretta Trickey, chairman of the program committee, said today that the dinner featured George Washington's birthday. The atmosphere of a holiday was enhanced by decorations of a cherry tree and hatchets. Professor John Ise of K.U. will speak to the Christian church young people at their Forum hour on Sunday evening. The Forum program will be held at the Church at 6:30 with Leroy Covey, c'41, president, presiding. A social hour is scheduled for the group at 5:30 with a light lunch served at 6 o'clock. Guests included Mrs. C. M. Baker and Chancellor and Mrs. Deane W. Malott. Be wise, Advertise! Ise to Speak at Church Forum The Easter Parade, this spring, will feature a variety of three-piece suits.
