Dance Friday Night At Union This dance is to get the new members acquainted with each other, and to finish organizing all of the districts for this semester. Friday night from 9 until 12 in the Kansas room of the Memorial Union building, an extra all-district informal dance will be given for the new members of the I.S.A. Young Democrats Elect Miller New President Douglas Miller, b'40, was elected president of the Young Democratic club at a meeting in the Pine room of the Union building last night. He replaces Frank Bukaty, ed'41, whose resignation as head of the organization was accepted. Vice-president of the club will be Jerry Riseley, b'41, and Harry Brown, b'40, was elected secretary-treasurer. The three officers will attend the annual state Democratic "Pow-Wow" in Topeka Thursday. The club voted last night to have a regular meeting every two weeks. Be wise, Advertise! Triangle fraternity announces the pledging of Robert Earnheart, e'43. 75 Students Hear Woodford, Dennis Earl Woodford, junior executive of the Standard Oil company of Indiana, and Ed Dennis, advertising manager for the WHB broadcasting company, spoke on the subject, "Opportunities in Sales and Office Work" before about 75 students and graduates of the School of Business last night. The meeting, held in room 210. Frank Strong hall, was under the auspices of the Business Placement Service. Woodford, spoke about the possibilities of advancement from general office work. Ed Dennis, '31, who spoke about salesmanship and the requisite qualities of a salesman. He gave three of them as being sincerity, honesty, and stick-to-it-iveness. Meguiar Attends Deans' Meeting Miss Elizabeth Meguari, adviser of women, left yesterday for St. Louis, Mo., where she will attend the fourday 1940 convention of the National Association of Deans of Women. Miss Meguair will speak on the "Administration of Loans and Scholarships" at the convention tomorrow.
