University Daily Kansan / Tuesday, October 4, 1988 5 Bomb warnings ignored By Jeremy Kohn Kansan staff writer Hef Jsu needs more than a bomb threat to get out of sed. "I just went back to sleep." Hsu said. According to University of Kansas Police records, the Lawrence Police told hall staff at 4:48 a.m. on Sept. 24 to turn out at the school. The Overland Park freshman at McColum Hall said resident assistants banged on his door early in the morning on Sept. 24 to tell him about a bomb threat at the hall. 'Maybe one or two guys went down to the lobby.' Stubbe said. Todd Stubbie, Rochester, N.Y., freshman, said he'd know of any residents who left the hall after the RA's Fred McElhenie, director of residential programs, said residents always are notified about bomb threats, but are not told. "If you evacuate en masse and a bomb goes off, it will probably kill more people," McElhaney said. He said resident directors are supposed to call him immediately after they notify police of bomb threats. In this incident, police were told about the first threat, and then the police called hall staff. Randi Schneider, resident director of McColum Hall, said she immediately called McElhene. McEhlennie said he told Schneider to follow the policy. Schneider said KU police and hall staff checked the public areas of the hall, and did not买 a bomb. Meanwhile, RAS told the students about the bomb threat. RADON Continued from p. 1 It went out of business in April 1888, but kept its邮品 office box with his bills said the Atterbury General.
