Ames of Claffin, has chosen June 15 for the date of her marriage to Lieutenant Ralph Burton Praeger of West Point, N. Y. son of Mr. and Mrs. H. A. Prueck, son of the wedding. The wedding take place in the Cadet Chapel at West Point. Miss Ames is a senior at the University, and is majoring in psychology. She is a member of Alpha Omicron Pi sorority. ~ ~ Lieutenant Praeger is in the Air Corps, United States army. The couple will make their home at Randolph Field, Texas. Leslie MacMitchall of George Washington high school, New York City, became the greatest high school miler of all time when he ran a mile in 4.155 at the Penn Relays. He was also a sophomore and is completing his third year as a high school sensation. Probably the best high school quarter-miler in the country is Max Lyda of Oklahoma City. Lyda run a quarter in 48.5 at meet in Baton Rouge this spring and then came back to run a 1.57 half-mile. Purdue equestrians have succeeded in gaining a promise from their university for the establishment of several bridle paths this Sports on Other Campuses Their recent riding exhibition. "Gymkhama"—previously described in this column—was so successful that the Riding Club has become popular. Members of the club will be active this summer, and their reign over the sport appears to be founded solidly. Two track meets of major importance will be held during the last of this month. On June 18, the national intercollegiate will be held in Minneapolis, and on June 25 will come a dual track meet between stars of the Big Ten and the Pacific Coast leaguers. The featured event of the national intercollegiate was to be a clash between star miler Louis Zamperi of U.S.C., and Wisconsin's speed king, Chuck Fenske. But now, there are possibilities that a real team can take part in a California exhibition meet recently cost him his position on the U.S.C. team, and he may remain out of the picture for the rest of this year.
