The theme of the party, "Santa Claus 'Toyland'," was carried out by cardboard figures of toys on the boxes. Boxes, representing blocks, were covered with red paper bags and were spelled "Merry Xmas," and were hung from the ceiling. Red Blackburn and his orchestra were dressed in the red and blue uniforms of the University Band, which gave them the appearance of toy soldiers. In another clothing number, "Speed Thee My Arrow." Swarthout, wife of Dean Swarthout of the School of Fine Arts, left yesterday for New York City, where she will spend the holidays with her daughters, Evelyn. 32, and Ruth. 37.
