With sleek, black neck in splints and bandages for two months, Hern's Choice is getting skittish for the track again. After the fall the animal was taken to a veterinary hospital, where an X-ray examination revealed that his neck was broken about six inches below the ears. The animal's recovery was hailed by a veterinary minister's work of M.C. W.Townsend, veterinary surgeon. "He shows no sign of stiffness and can get his head down to the ground to feed," Townsend said. "He also can buck his jockey off when he feels like it." OPEN? Ben Warner, of Newbury, owner of Hend's Choice, said he hoped to run the hurdler when the 1936 season opens.
