McManey, Hutchinson's oldest citizen and Civil war veteran, is dead. Had he lived until May 16 he would have been 101. He was wounded in the second battle of Bull Run, one bullet that killed him and his army in two places. With his wife and four children he came to Kansas in 1875 in a covered wagon and settled near Wellington.
