LX --- UNIVERSITY DAILY KANSAN, LAWRENCE, KANSAS MONDAY, NOVEMBER 30, 1931 Jayhawker Squad Renews Practice for Charity Game Dope for Saturday's Til Gives No Edge to Either Washburn or Kansas NO GAME SINCE 1926 Following a few days rest during the Thanksgiving holidays the Kansas Jayhawkers returned to the field to night to begin some concentrated preparation in anticipation of the clash with Washburn Saturday at 4-7. The decisive defeat handed to the Missouri Tigers in the last conference tilt clearly illustrated the actual driving power of the Hargiss men, and if an equal offensive drive is given the game should be enjoyed by the Jawahrelle should emerge victorious. Dupa, until last Saturday when the Kansas Angies administered a severe jolt to the Ichabods' pride with a 22 to 0 victory, slightly favored the Wash-burn eleven in their game in Kansas. Early in the Ichabods' early in the Haskell Brown 6 to 0, and Haskell came back to outlay the Jahawkers for a similar victory. Throughout the season, however, the strength of the Kansas eleven has increased noticeably, and the tilt with Missouri clearly demonstrated that it is almost certain that a victory from Washburn is dependent upon how badly the Jayhawkers want to win. The squirt is in good condition, with only one new injury on the list, Griddy, but also broke a broken nose in the Tiger name. Kansas and Washinton have experienced a long period of football rivalry although the two teams have not battled against each other. Kansas defenses the Jaboobs 14 to 6. The first game with Washburn occurred in 1801, the same year in which Kansas first faced Washburn in 1801 and 1900 five events were staged, and Kansas was proclaimed conqueror in nine Nineteen games. In 1802 Washburn battled a losing Jawahyer eleven for a 24 to victory. Washburn also won the year after the decisive margin. Since 1906 the games have been principally Kansas victories. Since 1891 the game has won 22 contests. Kansas has won 21, with a total of 52 scored points. Washburn has won 14. Kansas and three 3 games have resulted in ties. Seven other miners were trapped in the pit and there was little hope of escape. Almost a thousand miners escaped from the underground tunnel after the collapse of the mine, and are trapped. The collery is one of the most modern in all Britain. The pit was supposed to provide unusually good work equipment, but it has not produced 25,000 tons of coal a week. Local Barbers End.
