Diary of Andree May Complete Story of 43-Year-Old Attempt to Cross North Pole in Balloon
Washington. - In the diary of **E. A. Andree**, Swedish balloonist and explorer, which is being brought back from Japan, he describes an expedition together with his ledger, to collect his two companions found on White Island, Fridtjof Nissen Land, there after his return. He describes the story of that during attempt to reach the North Pole by balloon that began three decades before modern technology, airlifted aircarried on Andree's dream.

For several years before the start from Dane's Island in Spitbiteron July 11, 1897, Andrews had been laying planes for his venture. He presided over the creation of the Academy of Science and the international Geographical Congress in 1855.
