Other officers named were: Charles E. Snyder of the Chicago Daily Drivers Journal, first vice president; John C. Miller, second vice president; Walter Humphrey, Fort Worth, Teva, Press, secretary; John G. Earbart, Chicago Drivers Journal, treasurer, and Managers North Dakota, alumni secretary, North Dakota, alumni secretary, Iowa State College was awarded the F. W. Beckman prize given annually for excellence in efficiency rating. The Lawrence W. Murphy Plaque, for having the highest percentage of graduates in the state, went to Washington State College. As final business, the convention adopted a resolution condemning contempt of court sentences imposed upon news gatherers by judges, when such sentences grow out of attacks upon the judges, except in open court.
