PAGE SIX THE UNIVERSITY DAILY KANSAN, LAWRENCE, KANSAS FRIDAY, MARCH 15, 1929 Men Reporting for Varsity Tennis Team Have First Workout Kansas Scheduled to Meet Ames in First Conference Game of Season Candidates for the varsity tennis team responded to the first workout, called by Coach Huse, yesterday afternoon. Several veterans from last fall were among the aspirants this season and the material showed promise. Among the most likely candidates for the team, are George Gell, Randolph Neth, Charles Seager, James Tewksley, Brian Baker, and James Snider. Matches with Ottawa, Baker, and Washburn are being contemplated by Coach Huse, and it is likely that these matches will not count in the Big Six standing of the team, and will be played at a later date at the conference. The first Big Six games will be played with Ames April 13. Four men will constitute the team. Despite the soft condition of the varsity courts yesterday the men played three ots each. Gaill and Neill showed up we were all in for practice and Jewell, Practice will be as regular as the condition of the courts will allow. More Volleyball Played Alpha Delta Pi, TNT and Alpha Gamma Delta Win T, N, T, Alpha Delta Pi, and Alphamamma Delta were the winners in last night's women's innermann tournament.
