Allen, director of athletics, expressed himself this morning as favoring a four-hour practice and a two-hour practice. He stated that after a conference with H. W. Hargiss, head coach of football, regarding the practice, he cited upon four weeks as the ideal length for the spring practice. Recommendation of athletic directors for an expansion of freshman football activities will be discussed at the State Fair on Monday, March 22 and Norman, Okla. March 22 and 23. Scouting and the length of spring training are also a consideration from the group, W. W. Davis, of the department of history, will represent Kanaas at the conference. At present it is probable that the spring football period will extend over a period of six weeks. However, a few months ago the football team added the gresten. Freshmen will practice during the spring period under the same conditions as the varsity, unless the season is cut short. That freshman team play two or three games in the Big Six conference was also brought out in the recommendation. The plan was tried in 1926 under the old Missouri Valley conference and the receipts were donated to a similar university, similar ar agreement is being sought. Little freshman activity in any form athletics is provided for in the Big Six athletic programs, and the desire of the athletic directions in their recommendation to expand the program is supported. The two-year plan would provide or a home and home bases of play for the team. The two-year plan would give invaluable rackets to the team in the ability to help the team in the arena teams.
