British Museum Honors Martin, Dyche Curator
Names New Fossil Species for Discover.o; Only Collections Made in Kansas
A new species of invertebrate fossil, the salamander (tatanus oleipus) malac�, has been married in honor of H. T. Martin from Dr. T. W. Wilcher, paleontologist of Dychs Museum, according to a letter received by Mr. Martin from Dr. T. W. Wilcher, investigator in the fossil invertebrate department of Natural History, London, England.
Several years ago, Mr. Martin supplied the British Museum with some small but interesting circlips, fossil-burnicles, and the letter which was sent to him, asked information in re-examining the ancient nature of burial of this species.
Among the number of specimens which Mr. Martin sent to the British Museum was a new species to which (aphasia) martini was given in his honor.
The specimens were found in the Nibbara Cretaceous, whilk beds of La Caldera from which over a hundred similar specimens were collected and sold to museums.
All of the specimens in the country are at the University of Kansas in the invertebrate college by Mr. Marzin, and the only specimen in this country are at the University of Kansas in the invertebrate college by Mr. Marzin.
The following museums in England have specimens from Martin's quarry in London; Oxford Museum, Nottingham University Museum; Sedgewick University Museum; Brighton Museum; University College (Rounding), and Hull Museum.

University of Wisconsin Installs Super-sensitive Micro-Balance
Madison.—Installation this week he the chemistry department at the University of Wisconsin of a micro-balance which is almost sensitive enough to detect even the smallest changes and extends the equipment of the micron analytical laboratory here to a point of efficiency unsurpassed elsewhere in the United States, and equaled in only five or six other institutions, now on the U.S. National Academy of Sciences, in charge of the laboratory.
Magnifies Readings
The Airworth balance just installed is superior to any balance in the present equipment of the laboratory and its installation was necessary paired for analytical work with minute small specimens. The balance is sensitive to a weight of 900 millilgram having a capacity for 29 grams. The beam of the scale is five inches calibration on a beaver above the beam.
Accurate readings are assured by a unique system of lights, prisms, and mirrors whereby the indicator may be read on a scale four times as large as the depth of water it is contained in an aluminum case 20 inches long by 20 inches high.
Micro-analysis is done only by grand the university three years ago by the late Prof. George Klemmerer work on geological and Natural History survey. In connection with the work of A. E. Briage and C. Jaday on Wits, the faculty restricted to organic substances, but under the survey the work extended itself to a study of lake residues or to analysis of inorganic compounds.
The field of laboratory analysis of microscopic specimens is so new that most of the equipment has had to be upgraded from specifications. An Earthquake Predicted
Oregon Geologist Gives Warning to Californie
Eugene, ore. — (U.P.) —
Another severe earthquake in California, probably south of San Francisco, is one within the near future.
Dr. E. T. Hodge professor of geology at University of Oregon, has announced

Washington — The Panama Canal Zone will be less than a day's journey from the city, but its down-to-earth flight now being planned by the Army Air Corps is successful. The new F-12, hatchbed as installed in the plane, is piloted in this包邮 by Canyon C. Enaker, pilot of the Question Marks record-breaking concurrence flight.
Brownsville, Texas, and France Field, C. Z., will be the terminals of the flight. Capt. The wing spread of the new plane is only 23 feet and from tip to tail it measures less than seven yards. Its engines, drivers, air-cooled and equipped with a super-charge to permit efficient operation, mounts near Ganitam City. The cruising speed of the plan is from 160 to 200 mph with a minimum of 188 miles an hour.
